Description

The aim of this workshop is to address the computational challenges posed by the multiplicity of carbon structures. A number of different methods, such as simulations based on empirical potentials, tight-binding calculations or DFT are being used today and it is becoming evident that a combination of these methods is needed to make new progress in the carbon field. The goal of this workshop is therefore to bring researcher working with different aspects of carbon and using a variety of methods together. The workshop is intended to present the latest results on carbon materials, to discuss how different methods can be combined and to address how we can predict new carbon structures.

The workshop will start after lunch on Wednesday the 25th of October and end at lunch time on Saturday the 28th of October. The workshop will contain lectures by invited speakers and there will be a poster session, where all participants can present recent results in poster form.

The list of invited speakers together with the titles of the talks can be found under presentations. The list of poster titles and abstracts can be found under posters.

A slide show with the pictures from the workshop is now available.
