Joint ICTP MARVEL College: Materials simulations in the age of AI
An introductory 2-week school in the field of materials simnulations will be held at ICTP (Trieste, Italy) from 1 to 12 June 2026.
The school is one of the closing events of the NCCR MARVEL centre (https://nccr-marvel.ch); 80 full fellowships (travel, accommodation, and meals, targeted more at applicants from developing countries) and 40 partial fellowships (accommodation and meals) are available for participants not part of MARVEL.
The application deadline for applicants requiring a visa for Italy has passed, but the deadline for applicants not needing a visa is 27 March 2026.
Applications can be submitted from the event page ("Apply here"):

The college is dedicated to junior researchers from all over the world, bringing together graduate students and early-career scientists to learn and explore the state-of-the-art in computational materials science in the era of AI, and to forge the next generation of researchers in the field.
The two-week programme includes lectures and hands-on sessions on electronic-structure and atomistic simulations to understand, predict, and design material properties. It includes keynote talks and lectures by distinguished scientists (see website and poster)
and covers first-principles methods, molecular dynamics simulations, and machine-learning approaches.
The programme will also feature two poster sessions, one in each week, where participants can present and discuss their work, and open-mic sessions to brainstorm together.
