50 years of Doi-Peliti field theory: applications to critical phenomena, condensed matter physics and active matter

Doi-Peliti field theory is a formalism that allows to model classical stochastically evolving many-body systems via a path integral formalism based on second quantization. Due to its combination of formal elegance and practical usefulness, it has found a broad number of applications in areas such as stochastic thermodynamics and the physics of soft and active matter. This conference celebrates the 50- year anniversary of the development of Doi-Peliti field theory (marked by the publication of J Phys A: Math Gen 9(9), 1465 (1976)). It will showcase the development and the state of the art in this field (theory). Most importantly, it will provide a space for discussions on statistical field theory and its applications, and thereby aims to serve as a nucleation point for collaborations and future developments.
