Computational methods for enzyme engineering
Location: Politecnico di Milano (Lecco Campus), Italy
Organisers
The workshop is organized as the first of four planned workshops within the WIDEzymes EU project (https://widenzymes.eu/). The planned dates are Jan 27-31, 2025 (please note that this is different from what indicated in the form for technical reasons).
This interactive course on ā€¯Computational methods for enzyme engineeringā€¯ will provide essential theory on different areas of enzyme engineering, and hands-on experience with several software tools suitable for mining new enzymes, engineering the activity, specificity and stability of enzymes.
Participants will have the chance to learn from the developers or experienced users of those tools, and discuss the optimal ways to set-up calculations and adequately interpret the results. At the end of this 5-day course, attendants be able to design different properties of enzymes on their own.
The course is primarily meant for doctoral students, postdocs working in the field of protein engineers with no prior experience in computer modeling and bioinformatics. The experts willing to broaden their current computational protein design toolbox will also benefit from this course.
