This joint CECAM-IRL and CECAM-UK-Daresbury event is an extended 12-month research and software development workshop centered around three core research themes:

• Theme A: Bridging Simulation and Experiment with Deep Neural Networks using variational autoencoders and regression.

• Theme B: Exploring Chaotic Dynamics Analogies in Deep Neural Networks.

• Theme C: Bandwidth-Efficient Diagnostics via Variational Autoencoders.

Anticipated Outputs

Three tangible outputs are expected from this extended workshop:

1. Academic Theses: The completion of several research theses.

2. Flagship Tutorial Integration: The incorporation of these outcomes as case studies in a CECAM flagship tutorial scheduled for May 2026.

3. Peer-Reviewed Publications: The submission of findings to peer-reviewed scientific journals.
