IDPfun Hackathon on Machine Learning disorder predictor development
Location: CECAM-IRL
Organisers
The hackathon aims to teach participants how to develop machine learning predictors of different aspects of protein structural disorder (protein binding, nucleotide-binding, and non-binding flexible linkers). Introductory talks (DOME recommendations for machine learning in biology; protein disorder; machine learning practicalities) will be followed by group work to develop a simple predictor for a small dataset, followed by a more complex challenge.
Registration for this workshop can be done here
Participants will need:
- to have programming experience (will be working in Python),
- to have an interest in protein structure and function,
- to be willing to work in groups to come up with solutions,
- to bring their own laptop (ideally with reasonable performance),
- to install PyTorch on their laptop before the hackathon.
This hackathon will be held in person. The final session with group presentations will be held on 2 September 2022 from 14:00 to 15:30 and will be live-streamed.
